We started ProtocolNow Because oudated protocols were quietly putting patients at risk

Built by people who've sat inside the exam room, the boardroom, and the binder closet — ProtocolNow exists to make sure your team is never working from the wrong version again.

About Us | ProtocolNow

Our story

Most healthcare organizations don't have a protocol problem — they have a version control problem. A binder in the nurses' station says one thing. The PDF on the shared drive says another. The protocol everyone actually follows lives in someone's head, and that someone is on vacation.

ProtocolNow was founded to close that gap. We built a single platform where clinical protocols get drafted, reviewed, approved, and published — with a clear record of who signed off and when, accessible on any device, online or offline.

The goal was never to add another piece of software to a healthcare team's day. It was to remove the friction between writing a protocol and knowing your entire team is actually using it.

Today, ProtocolNow supports OB/GYN practices, maternal-fetal medicine teams, hospitals, and medical schools who needed a better way to standardize care — and we're just getting started.

Built from the operations side. Designed for the people using it.

Berkeley spent years inside healthcare operations before founding ProtocolNow — long enough to watch capable teams get let down by binders, shared drives, and protocols that lived in one person's head. That pattern, repeated across practice after practice, became the problem he set out to solve.

He founded ProtocolNow to close the gap between writing a protocol and knowing the entire team is following the current version. The goal was never to add another piece of software to a clinician's day — it was to remove the friction between a decision and its consistent execution.

As CEO, Berkeley leads the company's vision and direction with a single, stubborn standard: build something practices genuinely want to use. He keeps the team focused on the people on the other side of the screen — the nurse at the station, the physician mid-shift, the administrator answering for compliance.

Data is the discipline. Trust is the product.

Ben is a data-driven technology leader — a database architect, software builder, and startup CTO whose background spans data modeling, engineering, analytics, and automation. He has spent his career at the intersection of data, software, and operations, building systems that aren't only technically sound but genuinely useful to the people who depend on them.

At ProtocolNow, Ben leads product and engineering, translating the company's vision into a platform clinical teams trust without thinking about it. From the protocol repository to the newest capabilities in ProtocolNow Ascend, his focus is software that holds up under real clinical conditions: fast, reliable, and clear.

His standard for the product mirrors the standard for the care it supports — consistent, dependable, and built around how teams actually work, not around whatever was easiest to ship.
